Palme d’Or Short Film
SESSIZ-BE DENG (SILENT) directed by L.REZAN YESILBAS
Has the short film finally found its place ? PRADA’s new film is directed by ROMAN POLANSKI and stars BEN KINGSLEY and HELEN BONHAM CARTER. The film’s beauty is in its simplicity and detail. So polished, we love it.
“When I was asked to shoot a short movie for Prada, I did not think that I could really be myself, but the reality is that in the total freedom I was given, I had the opportunity to reunite my favorite group of people on set and just have fun. The chance to dwell on what the fashion world represents nowadays and the fact that it is accompanied by so many stereotypes is fascinating and at the same time a bit upsetting, but you definitely can not ignore it. It’s very refreshing to know that there are still places open to irony and wit and, for sure, Prada is one of them.” Roman Polanski
STEVEN MESEL for VOGUE ITALIA featuring LINDA EVANGELISTA.
Is it enough just to have a girl and car? What if she takes off her top? What if the girl is Kate Moss and the car is a Mustang fast back ?
EDITING KATE by KNICK KNIGHT
‘Sex sells’ they said.
VICTORIA BECKHAM is certainly looking very sexy selling the sexy new RANGE ROVER EVOQUE SE. Fashion film luminary, Nick Knight, directs this new 2:35mins commercial which features all his trademark fashion film elements -technical effects, shadows, drone music, coloured light, Victoria Beckham and a wind machine.
It’s impossible to address the subject of fashion, film and blogging without referencing the iconic ASVOF, Diane Pernet. Ladies and Gentleman THIS IS DIANE PERNET by BENJAMIN SEROUSSI.
Blogger Garance Dore does film, her way. This video “Pardon My French : Les Parieiennes” is what you’d expect; a street view, with some Dore signature graphics and her Parisian POV. She hops in the car with EMMANUEL ALT, sees a few shows, an exhibition, even her blogger boyfriend THE SATORIALIST makes an appearance. The series is a really great insiders view into the best of Paris fashion week. Then she goes to New York and it goes on …. Merci Garance, charment !
LEAN DEL RA
Fashion has a new darling and that’s the Blogger. Elevated from the back of the bus to front seat glory, these are the people shaping and snapping a large part of fashion today. This video comes from fashion blogger lion Lendra Medine, Man Repeller, who’s unique witty approach makes her one everyone watches. She’s got an enormous wardrobe and apartment, which constantly featuring on the blog. But most of all she’s just funny and not afraid to say what she thinks. The video embodies all Medine’s hallmarks, great style and a touch of the absurd. This film in keeping with many fashion films, features a few effects and filters and it may go on a little too long. But a little bit of humour seems to make all of that ok.
